Welcome to the IFRT!
Research
The Institute for Fusion and Reactor Technology (IFRT) is a young institution at KIT that researches in the areas of new, innovative nuclear systems and nuclear fusion and is involved in major international research projects, where interested doctoral students may collaborate.
Innovation
Currently we set up with a thermal-hydraulic test system (→ KIMOF) and a simulation laboratory (→ KISILA) - a strong infrastructure in order to provide motivated students and young scientists the best ways to carry out scientific work.
Education
The IFRT will act as a hub for a new major field of study "nuclear technology and fusion technology" and thereby give the students the necessary know-how in this very promising area in the international field. Our Institute provides a series of interesting scientific theses for students of the outgoing diploma degree and the Bachelor's and Master's degree program.
